There’s going to be times when the project doesn’t quite run to plan. If this happens, there needs to be mechanisms to correct the issue and keep the project moving on schedule.
Common problems are RL’s aren’t correct, floor levels change, stairway handrails don’t just quite work how they were shown in the drawing, or design changes during the construction impact on other access provisions.
When this occurs an Accredited Access Consultant can potentially help resolve the issue by:
- Developing a performance based ‘Alternative Solution’, assessed against the relevant ‘Performance Requirements’ of the Building Code of Australia; or
- Working through the issue with the project team to find a suitable ‘Deemed-to-Satisfy’ solution to the problem.
